I am using Visual Studio 2008, .Net framework Version 3.5 SP1 and SQL Server 2008 R2 with Analysis Services running.
I have created a new Analysis Services project. I added a few dimensions and build them. I am able to build the project and even browse the dimension data inside the project. At some point the project starts giving the following error without a visible cause. This error occurs when trying to deploy the project. The deployment server is localhost (my workstation).
Error1Internal error: Invalid enumeration value. Please call customer support! is not a valid value for this element.00
This error is followed by the following errors:
Error2An error occurred while parsing the 'StorageMode' element at line 1, column 12705 ('http://schemas.microsoft.com/analysisservices/2003/engine' namespace) under Load/ObjectDefinition/Dimension/StorageMode.00
Error3Errors in the metadata manager. An error occurred when instantiating a metadata object from the file, '\\?\C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Data\MediaConsumptionAS.0.db\Consumer.8.dim.xml'.00
Could someone explain, please?

This seems solved now. I went to this folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\OLAP\Data\MediaConsumptionAS.0.db
and deleted this file Consumer.6.dim.xml
that was pointed to by one of the error messages. I also verified that this file had the error text "Internal error... bla.. bla... (se thmy post) inside.

Hello, I've the same problem and I can't explain the reason for it. I've cancelled the dimension in a copy and now it works. Now I try to create another time the dimension cancelled.
