SQL Licensing - Instances

  • Hi All,

Can anyone help with a licensing question? If you have multiple instances on a server that is licensed under the per processor model, are all instances covered by the licence or do you need seperate licenses per instance as they are sperate versions of SQL2005?

Thanks for any help in advance.

  • on any one physical server, you may install as many instances as you want under that license.

the license is really per machine, not per instance.
