Hi All,
Im getting the following error wen connecting to my sqlserver2008.
I was able to connect to it everytime i restart the sqlservices. I made few changes in the facets tab.
I selected the surface area configuration and nabled the remote connections for the server.
Now iam not able to connect to anything. Sqlserver agent, sql server browser, sqlserver services is running. Shared memory , named pipes,tcp/ip is enabled.
I get the foolowing error wen trying to connect to it from sql authentication mode or windows authentication mode with admin credentials.
""A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.) (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)""
Please let me know where to begin with to solve the issue. Let me know if I have to provide any further information.
With Regards,
Anu..;-):hehe:

A little more info, if you please
What OS are you running?
What version of SQL 2008?
Are you able to connect from the server to itself?
What's showing in the sql activity log?
Can you ping the server and can you telnet onto the sql port?

If you are using Windows Server 2008 you will have to tweak the firewall:
