does the performance improve if i reboot sql server box every week in a dataware house environment. we are doing this now hoping to get better performance any comments?

You may be seeing a temporary performance improvement. This method is more like a band-aid to use until you can correctly identify what is causing your performance degradation.

After the reboot performance will likely be degraded as SQL reads pages off disk and into the buffer cache.
