Hi,
in my system there are 2 instance(named(sql2000 personal edition ) +default(sql2k5 dev edition) r running
when i restrt the system the default instance services r not starting automatically.
but no when i tried to restart the default sql services it givivg error
The MSSQLSERVER service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service
sqlservices --properties---it is general-- logon--local system account only
pls give the solution to start the sqservices.

can you check the application logs in event viewer? best will be attempt to restart the service and then check what is logged in application log.

Please post the error message you are getting in System Event log.

I would suggest looking into the SQL Server Error Log located in the \LOG Directory of the installation path.
It is a text file and can be opened with any text editor.
