Hi,
every time i install a SQL Server 2005 instance, inside the C:\Programas\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data there is a file like this:
AA7A6464-614C-406C-8B96-14D6604736C2.cer
That is this file? is this a self signed certificate installed my SQL Server 2005?

Yes, that is the security file created during the SQL Server installation.

Thank you for reply.
My question was: Is this the self signed certificate that is used by SQL Server 2005 when you configure the option "force encrypation =yes" and don't provide a valid certificate?
I know that when you configure the option "force encrypation =yes" and don't provide a valid certificate to SQL Server, the SQL Server will use a self signed certificate to encrypt the connection. It's this the self signed certificate used by SQL Server?
Thank you
