Hi,
The offer training and certification in BI Development and Maintenance (70-448) has been given to me by my employer. They are offering me time off to study, but are also expecting me to study in my spare time as well.
Basically, roughly how many hours am I looking at to pass this exam? I have a great deal of experience in db development on MS Access, MySQL etc, but relatively little on the admin side of Server/SQL Server.
I know this is a difficult question to answer, but any guidance –however vague - you can give me would be appreciated. I'm hoping to take the exam in September, so can I still look forward to summer....???

Have you taken any other certifications?

In a word, No.
I have purchased and am starting to work through MS SQL Server 2008 BI Development and Maintenance from MS Press using the 180 day SQL Server installation. Only a couple of chapters in, and I'm reckoning on 2-3 weeks of full-time study. Is that about right?

It is possible. If you are doing that full time you may have enough down for the exam at that point.
My recommendation would be to try as many scenarios and examples as possible and test them thoroughly.

I would review the prep guide that is available online and take the transcender practice exams before you take the certification test. I have some feedback here in regards to this one - Quick Feedback on the 71-448 (70-448) Beta Exam.

SSRS is a large portion of the exam, so study up if you are not familiar on this product.
