renaming SA account caused SQL Server Agent Jobs to fail

  • I renamed our SA account (lets just say to SA2 as an example) but now the SQL

    Server Agent jobs fail, even though they show the new name SA2 as the owner.

    The failure message states that "the owner sa does not have server access".

    I don't know why this is happening since the job properties now reflect that

    the owner is SA2.

  • Even though your jobs reflect the new name, did you change the run as account as well?
