Recently our SQL 2005 cluster went down hard due to a failure on the SAN. The data was restored and the drives were reattached. There were two nodes in the cluster, but node 2 failed miserably and was rebuilt. I dont know if anyone ran CLUSTER NODE %computername% /FORCECLEANUP. Now it has been fully rebuilt from the OS up and added back to the cluster and SQL binaries and SP3 were added as well. The cluster will not fail over to the second node (node 2). It starts to move the group, but then moves right back to the first node. There are no real error message to go on in the event logs? Can anyone help with some guidance on where to start looking. Any help is appreciated.

Mystery solved. The network names of Network Cards installed on each of the nodes did not match. This made the CLUSTER IP fail to the only adapter in the list assigned to the CLUSTER IP PARAMETERS tab.:-)
