Hello
I haven't had the pleasure of using DTS as yet, but I will soon have a requirement to transfer from a SQL Server database to an Oracle database (as our client is using this platform).
I have been informed that DTS can provide the functionality to carry this out. However I'm not sure how I access the DTS Import/Export Wizard? Is this something I can access via SQL Server (or) is it another module that needs to be installed before I can use it?
Any comments would be very much appreciated!
Cheers

Yes you can still use DTS - however, the import / export wizard on 2005 is based on SSIS which is probably a better bet - if you've the appropriate modules for accessing Oracle databases you'll be able to goto your SQL server database in Sql server management studio, right click on the database name & select import or export from the tasks sub menu.

Yes. The DTS is built in tool with SQL server Database and you need not install anything more. But in the Dropdown list, you may not see any proper Provider to connect to the Orcale Server In that case you will have to install the Oracle client or the OLEDB provider for Oracle.
