confused about version of SSIS packages if using Visual Studio 2008...

  • Dear all,

I am afraid I might be asking a stupid question but I am a bit lost here...

I have Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2008 as well as Sql Server 2005 and Sql Server 2008 installed on my laptop.

We are embarking on a project where we cannot use SQL Server 2008 so we'll have to use 2005.

    So far so good.

We have started developping our solution/projects in Visual Studio 2008 (bit of Tsql and C#) but now we need to create SSIS Packages.

I am afraid that if I create our packages using Visual Studio 2008, I might end up with SSIS 2008 packages rather than SSIS 2005 Packages...

Question: is it easy to create SSIS 2005 packages from Visual Studio 2008 or should we change tactic and use Visual Studio 2005 instead?

    I hope I make sense...

    😀

  • Play it safe, use VS2005.

  • I fear you might be right... :crying:
