???
From what I have read SSIS 2008 packages can not be run using SSIS 2005.

SSIS 2008 packages cannot be run from an SSIS2005 store.
However, You can create SSIS2008 packages and run them from an SSIS2008 store to process data from SQL2005 and SQL2000 databases.

Can you have another go at writing out your question - be a bit more verbose this time please, as this does not make a lot of sense.

We have a dev app server (dev400) that has 2005 client installed.
One of our developers is writing 2008 ssis pkg and need to execute this pkg from this server (dev400) since this is the only dev server that have our job scheduler software installed.
But the 2005 dtexec will not work for this 2008 ssis pkg.
He asked to installed 2008 client on this server (dev400) and he believes that will work.
My question is will it?
Hope this clean up my question.
Thanks.
