Hung backup job can not be killed.

    A SQL Server 2005 on a cluster has a hung backup job that can not be killed. It is one SPID of 63 but has two lines in Activity monitor.

    The activity monitor says one has a wait type of BACKUPTHREAD and one says a wait type is IO_COMPLETION.

    Any suggestions?

    If you want to kill it use : Kill

    The spid does not exit when I kill it.

    KILL 63

    Does nothing.
