SQLState: 08S01 ErrorCode: 0 SQLException

    I am getting the following error from my application logs.the db is SQL2005 Ent edition and os is win2003.

    The application is using jtds driver.

    SQLState: 08S01 ErrorCode: 0 SQLException: java.sql.SQLException: I/O Error: Connection reset

    java.sql.SQLException: I/O Error: Connection reset

    Whether the socket is forcible closed by database or it is a java error.

    This is usually a network error. This could be caused by packet drops or badly configured Firewall/Switch. Please check if you have remote logins enabled. You can check it using Surface area configuration manager
