  I used to be a SQL Server DBA several years ago, and I found "Microsoft SQL Server 6.5 DBA Survival Guide" very useful at the time. (Alas, I have since joined the Dark Side of Oracle, and haven't worked with SQL Server for 3 or 4 years...)

  I don't see a similar version of this book for SQL Server 2005 on amazon.com Can anyone recommend a similar type of book for a newbie SQL Server DBA that will be joining our department?
