Hi All,
We still have SQL Server 2000 servers in our company and we are planning to have them be upgraded to SQL 2005. Now, question is, can we reuse the seat licenses we have for SQL 2000 once we already upgraded to SQL 2005?
Any idea, dear experts?
Thanks in advance

It would depend on the license program you have. Volume license you are buying the license outright and most programs don't offer upgrade licensing.
If you have Sofware Assurance I believe it goes you want to "trade in" or upgrad your license to SQL Server 2005, so no you would not be able to reuse them.

I believe that CALs need to be upgraded along with the server.
