Hi,
Can anyone please provide some inputs on sql server 2005 security heardening document. Need to know the check list which needs to be
followed for preparing the secure sql server 2005.Eg like : Disabling xp_cmdshell.
Any inputs will be highly appreciated.

ive not got any links to documents etc but by default SQL 2005 is fairly secure as a fresh installation as all the remote routes into it are closed anyway, its only once you start opening things up (like you mentioned xp_cmdshell) that things can potentially become less secure.
Go through each of the options in the security access config tool and it will be quite clear what security holes you can create by opening up access.
