Database Mail & Useful Alerts

    Having got the Database Mail to work sucessfully (I hope) to let me know when jobs do not succeed I was looking at using it for other alerts. I was thinking along the lines of 'Whoops, look behind you!! There is an enormous bear rushing towards you' scenario.

    Which ones do most people use? There seems to be an aawful lot of options.

    Configure alerts for every errors with severity greater than 17- to start with
