MCDBA OR MCTP

  • hi guys..

    i m doing a job of system admin..since 4-5 years...win server 2003..,,,so i wish to do any certification like mcdba ,,,to get gud job..so can u tell me which course shouldi join mcdba or mcts ,,actaully i rea d that mcdba is now discontinued,and now they have mctp 2005......is it true....?

    one mroe thing can u tell me that is tehre ny value for only....dba cousre...or its require ny i.t degree with dba course to get gud job...and how many exams would be there...

  • The exams for the MCDBA cert were retired months ago and hence the cert can no longer be obtained.

  • You can opt for MCTS / MCTP 2005. Well if you are doing dba course from better to do it with good faculty and reputed institute with may help you initially to get a good break.

  • You should go for MCTS then you should continuewith MCITP.

    No more need for MCDBA! All of them who has passed the MCDBA must be upgraded to MCITP (DBA and DBD). Also many systems has been upgraded from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005/2008.

    And sure that you will see in which version, so for the moment we have MCTS, MCITP for SQL Server 2008/2005, and no longer at the end of the 2010 will launch SQL Server 2010 and sure in next future will launch also the certification paths for the SQL Server 2010!

    So, no need more MCDBA!
