At a brand new job. The databsaes are on servers using either Standard or Enterprise versions of SQL Server 2005. I wanted to be able to administer from my workstation without having to remote in. I couldn’t find the SQL Server 2005 disc, so I downloaded and installed the Express version (still 2005, not 2008) and it seems I can connect to and see the databases just fine from here. Anything that you know of that I cannot do with the Express version? I ask this because I did eventually find the disc.
Please note that I have Googled and understand the differences between the versions of SQL Server itself. I'm specifically asking about Management Studio, and using it to connect to and manage the databases that are running the full versions of SQL Server. So I don't care about db size limitations, # of CPU's, etc. Just managing the DBs and SSMS.

I don't know all of them, but there are some small differences between "regular" SSMS and express. Nothing that will prevent you from doing your job, but some strange little differences.
For instance you can't "edit" a view, but just "design" or "script to new window as alter".
I'm working with SSMS 2005 Express in my laptop and it lets me do whatever I need to.
