Can anyone please tell me the difference in backup in sql server 2000 and 2005

There aren't that many. Fundamentals are the same.
Backup and restore gained the CHECKSUM and CONTINUE_AFTER_ERROR options
On the restore side there's fast recovery (enterprise only), online restores (Enterprise only)
Can't think of any others offhand. Have a look through Books Online, specifically the "What's new in SQL 2005" All the details of all the changes are there.
