Import File Using SSIS FTP Task

    Is there a link or "walk through" that shows you how to set up a job to go to a web server, log on and get a file and copy it to a database in sql server 2005?

    I have never used the FTP task in SSIS.

    The FTP Task can be used only with FTP server. And you are talking about getting a file from web server. For getting a file from HTTP server check this sample script.

    Oh, so I cannot use the FTP task to download a file from a website like I could if I were using CuteFTP or something?

    The first step is to determine what type of remote server you have.

    Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Sorry to post in between. Wanted to know that can we integrate Cute Ftp with the SSIS to download file from a secure FTP server.
