How to disable the function
select * from sys.partition_functions - Gives partition function - 'TestD_PartitionRange'
create partition function test1_function(INT)
as following doesn’t work:
DELETE sys.partition_functions
WHERE name IN ('TestD_PartitionRange'
,'Test_PartitionRange')

well you can't delete anything in anything belonging to sys...they are just views. they are just thre for information purposes...they are not updatable.
if a function was created that you want to get rid of, what's wrong with
DROP PARTITION FUNCTION TestD_PartitionRange?
it's syntax is in BOL, but it's just an extra keyword. from a norma CREATE/ALTER/DROP function....CREATE PARTITION FUNCTION,ALTER PARTITION FUNCTION, DROP PARTITION FUNCTION
