column names in first row...with...(do not) overwrite data in the file

    In my Connection Manager for a flat file, I checked "Column names in first row".

    In my Flat File Destination, I unchecked "Overwrite data in the file".

    I want to append the data into the file (i.e. NOT overwrite) and I want the file to have the header names in the first row ONLY. However, the header names are appearing with every newly appended data set. I did not expect that result. Is that expected behavior? Might I have some other setting wrong? I thought I had this working as desired at one point. Is it possible to achieve the result I want? How?

    Once you've created the destination file, uncheck the "column names in the first row" for the source file.
