Any issues running SQL databases on NFS (network file system)?

    Are there any known issues or major performance problems with have databases on NFS. I would think as long as max reads and writes are under the max of the hardware it should be ok.

    If anyone knows any different, or has experience with NFS and SQL let me know.

    The experience I had was quite some time ago in technology time (4 years) so, this may be outdated. The solution we were using I only used to pump backups to and it was so slow that it really wouldn't have functioned as a solution for a data file. However the best thing to do would be to define you requirements and then run something like SQLIOSIM against that to see if it will perform.
