Uninstalling Clustered SQL 2000

  • We migrated the SQL 2000 Instance from one cluster to another cluster .We disabled the old instance and configured the instance on new cluster as it was before(Same IP address & Instance Name)I am planning to uninstall the old clustered SQL Instance.

Can i able to uninstall the instance whose cluster group was disabled?

What are the precautions do i need to take?

Do i need to disable the newinstance on new cluster and bring the oldinstance up on old cluster and do the uninstall?

Thanks In Advance for your help.

  • Do you mean new hardware? I'm a little confused as to what was installed where and what you want to uninstall and accomplish.

  • Yes,We migrated the SQL server from one cluster to another cluster .We took the OLD server offline and built a new server with with same server name & IP address .

Now i want to uninstall the SQL Server from the old cluster .

For this Do i have to take the newserver offline and bring the old server online and do the uninstall on the old server ?

What are the precautions do i need to follow?
