backup failure

    My backup get failed throwing the error as follows

    Operating system error 1398(There is a time and/or date difference between the client and server.).

    Can any one fix this problem

    Its sounds like a windows timing issue.

    If the server/pc (specifically the SQLAgent user) is out of sync this the domain controller it can causes authentication failure.

    Try re-syncing the time with your time server (or AD controller).

    Are you using VMWare?
