Why is there a difference between the points for my ranking and the points I have correctly answered?

I think it is a separate ranking system I am currently a newbie there, I think it is fun to answer some questions.
Kind regards,

Because every time you post to the forums you also get a point... there's another one.

I see where posts count in the overall total. But, when I look at [QotD] points attempted/won (347/168) and compare it to my QotD ranking points (153) I see a difference. And, I am wondering why. This is just curiosity.

Maybe it's a delay? Steve would know. I'm sure he'll be by in a minute or three.
