database should consist of a data file for each CPU core present in SQL Server

    On a multi-core computer running SQL Server, the primary file group for the content database should consist of a data file for each CPU core present in SQL Server. If possible, move each data file to separate logical units consisting of unique physical disk spindles

    Hi ,

    We have 8 CPUs but we have only 6 drives as below.

    C: OS

    D: .mdf

    E: .mdf

    F: .ldf

    G: TempDB--dedicated to Tempdb (both .mdf & .ldf files of tempdb)

    Z: Backups

    In this case, How should I configure Tempdb & Content database ??

    What is the content database reference? Is it sharepoint content database?

    Yes..Its a share point content database
