Error while creating report server virtual directory

  • Hi

Iam Getting the below error, while configuring the report server virtual directory using reporting services configuration manager

Configuring Report server virtual directory the secure connection level settings failed to update. The previously assigned settings will be used

  • Hi,

I tried to uninstall and install the reporting services couple of times, but Iam getting the same error but report server is created in IIS.Iam able to create Report server by deleting already created report server in IIS and select the default in report server virtual directory page in report server configuration.

Then Iam able to create the report server database successfully with the error

The report server cannot open a connection to the report server database. A connection to the database is required for all requests and processing. (rsReportServerDatabaseUnavailable) Get Online Help

  • Hi,

you had to change your autentication mode for the reporting service. I suggest you to use a domain administrator account, so you are sure you have access to db and resources.

  • In the SQL server management console - Databases you will have two databases associated with reporting services:

    A) ReportServer

    and

    B) ReportServerTempDB

don't change its names. If something has changed you will need to reinstall report server.

You can read this article from MS:

  • Iam using domain account only. see the attached screen shot. Iam able create the report server n reportserverTempdb in server2. Iam installing reporting services in server1

please advice me..I reinstalled the reporting services many times but still same error. Some times Iam able to finish all the steps successfully in Reporting services configuration manager. But when I browse Reportserver and reports in IIS, Iam not able to connect to report server database
