I'm in a new job at a small company, but we've got a new CIO and she's making a lot of organizational changes. Currently I report to her, which seems practical, but I think there was a hint that I may report to a new unfilled position of Reporting Manager, which seems less practical. In my last position I reported to the Network & Desktop Manager
Just wondering who other DBAs report to.

I think it depends on your major duties.
In my company, we have a Database administrator Manager whom I am reporting to. As the only SQL DBA here, my main duties are to ensure that anything related to SQL databases/servers is being taken care of. My manager is primarily an Oracle expert though.
If your main responsibility is to make sure all the reports are online and generated properly, reporting to Reports Manager is not so out of range.

My title is System Administrator. I'm actually the Senior DBA and team lead for our database group. I report to the Director of MIS.

I'm pretty much a production DBA. Responsible for backups, security, troubleshooting, performance, upgrades .... Also working with developers somewhat and helping to automate & simplify End-of-day processing and reporting jobs.
