Attempting to either create a temporary table or index statitics.

  • Dear All,

I am using ss2k when I run index tuning wizard it gives error:

"The server returned an error attempting to either create a temporary table or index statitics."

One more issue is this that the database server machine getting slow after 10-15 days..yet the processer and RAM consumtion is on normal state at that time.but database response goes very slow..

    Thanks

  • I'm sure about why you getting error.

However if there is a certain query or table that you have identified as being a poor perform, throw the code at us and see what we can do 🙂

Please post SQL 2000-related questions in the SQL 2000 forums in the future. If you post in the 2005 forums, you're very likely to get 2005-specific solutions.

  • Are you running this on your production server or on a dev server? (hint, you should not ever run index tuning wizard or database tuning adviser on a production system)

Does the account that you're running it as have rights to create objects in the database.
