  Just picking my way backwards through installations created by Development Team. I'm looking to get SQL Mail to tell when the backups have failed etc etc. Has anyone got any suggestions or am I barking up the wrong tree for this?

  Hi there,

  SQL Mail is deprecated. Try using Database mail instead.

  For a SQL Agent job, you can send a mail to an operator when either the job succeeds, fails or completes.
