Error on Excel import

  I am getting this error when I am trying to export the data from excel to SQL server 2005 through SSIS.

  Any help is appreciated.

  [Excel Source [1]] Error: The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "Excel Connection Manager" failed with error code 0xC0202009.

  [DTS.Pipeline] Error: component "Excel Source" (1) failed validation and returned error code 0xC020801C.

  [DTS.Pipeline] Error: One or more component failed validation.

  Error: There were errors during task validation.

  [Connection manager "Excel Connection Manager"] Error: An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft JET Database Engine" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file ''. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.".

  I know file is not in use, so not sure what is wrong.

  A couple of questions:

  Does the account that is running the package have sufficient priviledges on the excel file?

  If so, have you tried saving a copy and accessing the copy?
