1. Check OS Event Logs, SQL Server Logs, and Security Logs for unusual events.
2. Verify that all scheduled jobs have run successfully.
3. Confirm that backups have been made and successfully saved to a secure location.
4. Monitor disk space to ensure your SQL Servers won’t run out of disk space.
5. Throughout the day, periodically monitor performance
6. Last of all, don't stop learning new things. It's a constant learning and you need to know what's out there that can bring value to yourself and the business

Daily activities are only part of it. The list above is pretty good for those.
You'll also want a schedule of weekly activities, and monthly, most likely.
For example, every Monday, I do restore tests on databases. Just to make sure they're looking okay.

If you're applying for a job as a DBA, then you should already know that.
Or are you applying for a very junior position?

We can't really teach you enough for an interview, nor are we interested in having you try to show more knowledge than you have.
Be honest that you don't know answers. Show you know where to find answers, which is important. If you don't know that, perhaps you're applying for the wrong position.

Normalization will probrably come up and yes the interviewer will ask you some questions.
Be honest and say i not done this part but i am happy to research and provide this to you later in the day.

And also some interviewers try to scare you. You don't have to, be confident as long as you know the right answer and that depends on your experience and how much you practiced on your server.
Long back I was asked what are the High Availability options in SQL 2005. I mentioned Log shipping as one of them and he replied me back saying it's not!!!!!! and justify how could it be, I thought ahhhhhh what a dumbhoooooo:w00t:

Confidence is paramount, however being truthful about your skillset will help. A smart interviewer can immediately spot when someone is making things up.

There is an excellent EBook available for download called 'DBA Best Practices', sounds just what you are looking for. I downloaded it AFTER I got through the interviews recently and it has been extremely helpful. I am a relatively inexperienced DBA so the book has been just what I needed for filling in the gaps.
It's amazing what you can find if you look hard enough.:-)
