Hi All,
I'm pretty experienced with SQL 2005 but as I'm starting a new job, just wondered if anyone would recomend any good book which is very detailed on SQL 2005 Management and also a seperate book on Performance Tuning as well would be great.
the 2 books that I have
1) Administrators pocket consultant, not very detailed and kind of skims over the top of things.
2) The other Pro SQL 2005 doesnt really make good reading and very hard to pick out crucial points.
Thanks.

The Performance & Tuning book from the Inside SQL Server series is extremely good. Tips and best practices from some of the best people in the industry. It's kind of hard to go wrong with it.

I would like to share this with you, was forwarded by another SQL Server Expert
"I recommend the book Code Complete, by Steve McConnell, which is about software development and project management. It teaches about best IT practices as well as IT disasters. I rarely use all caps, but IT IS BETTER TO READ ABOUT I.T. DISASTERS THAN TO DISCOVER THEM YOURSELF."
