We recently moved our SQL database files to new drives on our SAN. Is is necessary to rebuild our clustered indexes?
In other words: Do the clustered indexes retain the physical location of the record on the disk?
Many thanks,

No. You can validate this by looking at the information in sys.dm_db_index_physical_stats().

Thanks, I just wanted to validate that. My understanding of clustered indexes was partially in error.
