using cdosysmail to send mail

    Hi

    Can anyone please let know that how cdosysmail SP sends email .

    Does it use/picks up SMTP setting ?

    It uses OLE Automation to call the CDOSys COM objects and can send it directly to the mail server. I believe that if you change the configuration in the stored procedure that you can use a pickup folder if necessary, but I have never actually tried that. I just provided it the server, port, and authentication information and it sent it directly through SMTP.

    Thanks for replying Jonthan.

    What my point was if the SMTP server settings gets changed, then would cosysmail will work fine ?? or need any changes
