I used maintenance wizard to remove the back up files that are older than 4 days. I received this message from my report text file. Help.
Failed:(-1073548784) Executing the query "EXECUTE master.dbo.xp_delete_file 0,N'',N'',N'2008-11-03T09:52:24'
" failed with the following error: "Error executing extended stored procedure: Invalid Parameter". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.

Did you try to run the plan manually and not as a job?
It may happen that the account that is running the job does not have permission to delete files.
Or try to run this query yourself from Management Studio. If it still gives you Invalid Parameter, then edit the Maintenance Plan and to re-save it.

Thanks Yelena. I found out what my problem was that I need to put the path on there or else it will generate the error.
