We have several ETL packages and it seems that the larger the destination table is, the longer it takes to open the Slowly Changing Dimension Task Wizard.
We are looking to change some of the attributes that are currently set to Historical, and opening the SCD Wizard takes anywhere from 30 seconds on a few hundred thousand rows to 5+ minutes for millions of rows in the destination table.
Has anyone else had any issues related to this and solutions?
Thanks

Just found a way around by using the advanced editor but any other solution would be welcomed.

Strange... I knew the SCD performed poorly for large tables on runtime, but never experienced it in design mode. Maybe because I try to avoid that component for large tables: http://microsoft-ssis.blogspot.com/2011/01/slowly-changing-dimension-alternatives.html

Try Todd Mcdermid's Kimball Slowly Changing Dimension
