Do I Need an Excel on SSIS Server ?

    hi,

    Im working on exporting to several excel file using foreach loop.

    I got an error when I access Excel file which was created on Server.

    and this Server doesnt have Excel installed.

    could someone please tell me whether I need to install Excel on Server??

    Instead of Excel, there is OpenOffice.

    if you are using .xls and under destination for your dataflow "Excel Destination" it should work. If you are trying to open the excel file on the server yes you need to either use open office or office to open the file. If you are using xlsx then you need to get the ms plug for the 12.0 driver
