Hi
How can be compress backups using sql server 2000.
I have tried installing winrar and tried to compress the .bak file using command line but it is not working.
Please let know if there is any way out for this.
Thanks

there are some freebiee sql utils but the best bet is either Redgate SQL Backup or Quest Litespeed?

There are a number of commercial utilities that let you produce compressed SQL Server backups:
SQL LiteSpeed, Redgate Backup, Idera has one, and there are several others.
Another option might be to upgrade to SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition because it has native backup compression built-in.
