I'm looking for a document to give an architect on multi instance and how service packs behave for:
SQL Server 2000 - with multiple instances and possibly multiple service packs
SQL Server 2005 - with multiple instance and possibly multiple service packs.
Can someone point me to something that will work here?

As for the multiple service packs, that shouldn't be the case. If you are looking for some general clustering overview documents for both products then the following links might be a beginning. If you are looking for something more then maybe you can provide more details of what you are looking for.

Hope this helps.

Hi guys,
this is my first time here. I have an sql server 2005 32bit with multiple instances (on the same server) and I would like to install sql server sp3. Is it recommended to install sp3 on 1 instance only or is it better to install sp3 on all instances?
Thanks
Brian
