Linked Server Login Mappings

    Does anyone know what determines the available logins in the Drop Down List when adding a Local Server Login to Remote Mappings?

    I have several logins on Server 1 that I know exist on Server 2, but when I go to map a login, only some of them are available. Is it a Domain Group thing? Are you not allowed to do group mapping from Server to Server?

    Group Mapping was always a Problem in Linked Server, you can use a SQL Login?

    I'd rather not have to add yet another SQL Login to my databases. And I don't want to give permissions to the current SQL Logins to this particular database.

    @sigh. But if that's the only solution...
