  • Hi guys,

Can somebody provide me resources to prepare for DBA certification? What's the best way to prepare yourself for the certification?

  • You can go for MCTS that is microsoft certified technology specialist in sql server 2005...

  • Hi, can you provide us what experience you have with databases or more specific with SQL server:

    1. How many years you have experience!

    2. How are you familar with SQL Server Technology

    3. Did you have any real project or are you working something with databases!

4.Which version of SQL Server you are using.

    etc etc...

and I'm sure that you will have much information for DBA certification!

  • Start with the 70-431 exam. It's for the basic certification and it's a general one.

Pick up a book on the exam, and go through it, working through the exercises. You need the skills, and the book will help you keep organized with what's on the exam.

  • i have been working as SQL DBA for 3 years (2000/20005). I just want to get hands on resources that can prepare me for the certification.

  • I've heard that the MS press self-paced training kit is very good.

  • Thanks for all responses. Last thing, does anyone know any good online resource to prepare for those exams?

  • I really like the Exam Cram series. The chapters are short and to the point. There is a small test at the end of each chapter, and two full tests at the end of the book. There is a tear out one page study guide in the beginning of each book of things that you should commit to memory.

I also follow (what I can) Microsoft's Learning Plan for the test.

Do NOT use testking. They are a braindump site. Their stuff is quite likely wrong and there's a chance (if you get caught) that using their stuff will get all your certs revoked.
