All right - I will bite. What IS it going to be? The other news I hear about involving Kilimanjaro portray it as being SQL 11, just that SQL 11 is getting a major kick in the pants on the BI side. Of course - it wouldn't be the first time they start with something integrated and spin it off into its own product.
I guess I didn't quite get a good feel for what it is supposed to be if it's not 11. Either way, sounds like something vastly improved over some already pretty decent features in our current SQL Server products.

As of now, no one really knows. I'm not sure if this is SQL 11 or SQL 10.5 right now.

Well - considering some of the hopes being hung on this thing - here's hoping they don't jump the gun. If it's as big of a product as it's being made out to be - this will take some time.

All that good info, and the only thing that really jumped out at me was "the first half of 2010, which is 18 months away."
Dear God, I'm getting old . . .

I knew I was getting old when 2001 flew by and I still hadn't visited a space station yet... Now 2010 is looming and my kids turn their noses up at 8-bit video games... and I still haven't visited a space station.
SQL Server Kilimanjaro is many things. Some of which you'll be hearing more about @ PDC and WinHEC. So far, the MSBI announcements are the only bits we can talk about publicly. Enjoy!

You'll like it. Even Mikey will like it.
I've been telling Steve to get ready to love upgrading every year...
:hehe:

I wouldn't be surprised to get upgrades coming every 1-2 years now. However it will put stress on everyone if you don't have upgrades that go back to 4-5 years worth of versions. Most of us don't want to upgrade every 3 years, much less sooner.
