  Hi,

  I was wondering if there was such a thing as File Fragmentation in SQL Server? If so what are signs you have it and how do you fix it? Is this what is ment by external vs internal fragmentation in indexes? are the two related?

  Yes there is. This site has an article called Fragmentation 101 that is a good place to start.
