mail alert

  • i configured sql mail but its not sending mail when required job fails

  • - with sql2005 it is advised to switch to DBMail.

    - Can you find a error notification in the job history ?

    - Can you find a error notification in the SQLAgent.out file ?

    - Can you find a error notification in the SQLServer errorlog file ?

    - can you post the job create statement ?

  • Hi,

    After your configuration, have you tested by sending a test email from the sql server.

    Post the exact error message, which helps to find the bottle neck of the problem.

  • In the properties of the SQL Server Agent, what is the "Alert System" setting for Mail Session ? Enable Mail Profile should be checked. This was my problem a while back.
