window 2008

  • We have a new project starting within the next month to update our sql server 2000 on windows 2000 to sql server 2005. Updating to sql server 2008 is not an option since our application vendors will not be supporting it for some time.

Is windows server 2008 stable enough at this point to use in production verses installing sqlserver 2005 on windows 2003.

    Thanks

    David Weil

  • What's stable enough?

Haven't seen any news about issues with it. I know that SS2K might not be supported on W2K8, they tend to support only 2 versions backwards (the Windows team), so you'd want to be on SS2K5 before moving to W2K8.
