Hi folks,
I have used SQL 6.5 and 2000. The current company is upgrading to 2005 later this year. I also have funding to get certified! 😀
Can someone advise me the books to look at and any good coruses within London to aim at. I'm actively researching online but someone might be able to save me time on this.
I'm thinking I will just try for the MCITS exam first and see how that goes. Does worry me that a large chunk of stuff seems to involve areas of SQL Server my companies have never used, and therefore I lack knowledge. My personal expertise is in T-SQL, Replication and DTS/SSIS...

Get the MS Self paced books, they are good. I think ExamCram did a book for 70-431 which is a great book but they didnt do one for 444 and 443. The trancenders are a really good test at the end, but i thought the tests on the cd in the MS books were enough to pass the exams. For 70-431 make sure you are used to the new features of sql 2005, xml, service broker, mirroring etc

The MCTS (technical specialist) certification is a requirement for the MCITP (IT Professional)
You can write the ITP exams without haivng the technical specialist cert, but you won't gain the certification until you've also passed the MCTS exam.
